Hobby Collections

Everyone has hobbies. Creating art, building lego sets, playing board games as a family, knitting, or camping are all hobbies that require materials we need quick access to when inspiration arrives. These activities also spur accumulation of more materials as you develop your skills, change direction, or want to have connection with others. I work with you to learn how we can prioritize the organization, access, and maintenance of your hobby collections so you can do what you enjoy in whatever space you have.

BEFORE

This client had a lot of loose bricks and sets in ziplock bags. They wanted to return to making creations that were from their own imagination. To facilitate this, the approach to this process was partially based on the space they had (a small apartment with one closet) and the goal of containers that would promote ease of use.

IN PROCESS

After it became clear the client would need new storage, we purchased clear plastic shoe box size containers with lids that could be easily accessible and sorted. We discussed how they wanted to organize their Lego bricks, by color and purpose, and the client began working on sorting.

Current

After two years of the box with lid system, the client decided that they wanted something new. After doing research, I suggested they try out clear plastic wheeled units that would make it easier to move more of their collection around. Based on cost, we strategized when the client could take advantage of sales to purchase the units and they were able to combine their lego bricks and ensure ease of use.
